FOP undoubtedly takes a toll on an individual’s physical wellbeing, but it can also affect one’s mental wellbeing too. The uncertainty of flare-ups and general restricted mobility can cause anxiety and low mood, for the person as well as those caring for them.

It is so very important that those living with FOP take care of their mental as well as their physical wellbeing.  But we appreciate this is easier said than done.  To help our families, we have compiled some resources to help support the wellbeing of those living with FOP and POH.

We are also proud to be able to offer personal counselling sessions, free of charge, to our families thanks to generous grants.  These sessions are provided by Rare Minds.

Follow the links (to external sites) to visit websites and find more specific resources.

If you know of any other organisations you think might be of support to others living with FOP, please let us know so we can add them.

For anyone feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, counselling or talk therapy can be an essential source of support.

Thanks to grants we’ve recently secured, FOP Friends is pleased to offer free, confidential sessions to those living with FOP and their immediate family members (age 14+). These sessions are delivered entirely through our partner, Rare Minds.

There are also other charities which can offer individual counselling.
